Take a break

We'll start the day with Qi-Gong to clear the mind. Then, we'll stroll through woods and open grassland, passing sheep, birds, squirrels and panoramic views on the way. We will stop for a feel-good yoga flow and experience Shinrin-Yoku in a very remote and silent part of the forest.

What is Forest Bathing?

The term shinrin-yoku, means "taking in the forest atmosphere". It is as simple as walking through nature and connecting with what's around you. The practice is proven to reduce stress, improve memory and offer a calm and peaceful clarity.

Weather

The event is fine even with a bit of summer rain, but we have to cancel the event in case of wind and rain warnings or thunderstorms. You will have the option to rebook or to get a full refund if the event is cancelled.

All You need to know

What to expect


Duration: About 4 hours (Please note: The trip takes about 4 hours, but it could be shorter or longer depending on the group.!)
Meeting Point: 10:00 AM at One Garden
We will start the day with Qi-Gong inspired movements and a hike through the forest to clear the mind before stopping for a feel-good yoga flow. Our walk will lead us through wide-open fields with panoramic views to a remote part of the forest with no artificial noise to experience Shinrin-Yoku or Forest Bathing, consciously connecting with what's around you using all your senses. TIPP: There is a lovely restaurant at One Garden - perfect for lunch!




How to get there?


Meeting Point: 10:00 AM at One Garden Adress: Stanmer Park, Lewes Rd, Brighton BN1 9SE Car: The Car park next to One Garden cost £6. Bus 25 to Stanmer Park: It takes about 15 minutes to walk from here! Bus 78 to Stanmer Village: Only at specific times. Make sure to check the timetable!




What to bring?


You need to pack different things up to the weather. But please keep in mind that the weather can change, and it can be windy up the hills! Here is a little tick list!

  1. Minimum one litre of water
  2. Sun cover (A hat, sunscreen and a shawl or something to cover your shoulders with.)
  3. Any medication that you need!
  4. Tissues and hand sanitiser
  5. A warm jumper in case it gets cold.
  6. A Yoga matt and any equipment you might want to use. (Let me know if you haven't got a yoga mat as I can provide one!)
  7. a sandwitch and a flask of tea




What to wear?


You need to dress differently in different weather conditions! Please bring a warm jumper anyway in case it gets windy!

  1. Good shoes with a good grip. (No Convers!)
  2. A beany hat for wind and sun.
  3. A warm Jumper!




What if it rains?


A little bit of rain should be ok, but if it rains heavily or if it is very windy, we would cancel the event. You will get a full refund if the retreat is cancelled!




What about toilets?


There are toiletes at the start and at the end. There are no toilets in Stanmer Park, but many bushes and not many people!




What fitness level is it?


The yoga class is beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels. You need to be fit enough to walk up a moderate slope!
